Part inspection · pilot programme

Every face. Same view, every time.

A camera rig turns the part to each face and photographs it from a fixed angle and distance. Defects are flagged and every image is stored against the part. Your inspector confirms what is flagged.

How it works

Position, capture, check, record.

1 · Position

Fixed views

A turntable selects the face. A tilting camera sets the elevation. Markers on the fixture confirm the pose actually reached.

2 · Capture

Same light, same distance

Controlled lighting and standoff, so differences between images come from the part and not the setup.

3 · Check

Flag, don't decide

Images are compared against good reference parts. Anything unusual is flagged for review.

4 · Record

Traceable

Each image is stored with part number, serial, face, time and result, ready for audits and customer complaints.

What we look for

Surface and visible features.

Best on machined and moulded parts where the defect is visible from outside. Defects inside the part, such as porosity, need X-ray and are not covered.

  • Scratches, dents and tool marks
  • Burrs and unbroken edges
  • Missing or incomplete features (holes, threads, chamfers)
  • Stains, rust and plating defects
  • Flash and short shots on moulded parts
  • Wrong part or wrong orientation
Where it helps

When a customer asks for 100% inspection.

After a complaint

Sort suspect lots with a consistent check and keep image evidence for the response.

Final inspection

Back up visual checks that depend on how tired or rushed the inspector is.

First articles

Capture standard views of the first piece and attach them to the report.

Where we are

Pilot first. We tune it on your parts.

The rig is in development. Pilots run on a small batch of your parts: good ones, and any known defects you have. We report what the system catches and misses, and agree the next step with you. No accuracy figure is promised before that test.

Pilot

Lend us a few parts.

Send 20 good parts and any parts with known defects, or ask us to visit. We return images, flags and a plain summary of results.

  1. Tell us the part, its drawing and the defects that matter.
  2. You provide good parts and known-defect samples.
  3. We run them through the rig and return results.
  4. You decide whether to continue.
